It is with incredibly broken hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Constance Lovett in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday January 1st, in her 77th year. Beloved wife of the late Max Lovett. Cherished mother of Natalie and Christian Schmid. Proud and loving grandmother to Ryan and Liam Schmid. Anne is survived by her brother John and sister in-law Barbara Carter, (Belfast), brother in-law, Ron Dilworth (England), and numerous nieces, nephews who will forever love and cherish their Auntie Anne. She will now be happily reunited with her beloved dogs, Brandy, Titian, Caleigh and Maggie May.
Anne was born and raised in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She studied hairdressing and decided to move to Canada with her friend in 1966, at the age of 21. She lived and worked in Toronto for many years, until moving to Alliston with her family in the mid 1970’s. Anne was determined at building her own successful business, and in 1980, Hair Design was established. She served Alliston residents and the surrounding areas for almost 40 years, until she retired in 2017 from her salon at the Nottawasaga Inn.
Anne loved spending time on the water, where she spent her summers boating and many winters cruising. She had a competitive spirit and loved ping pong, tennis, pickle ball and golf. She was an avid world traveler, she loved reading and going to the theatre. Anne hosted many events over the years and NEVER missed an opportunity to party. Anne’s friends meant the world to her, her legacy will always live on through their hearts and minds.
Anne’s Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday January 21st at 2pm at the Briar Hill Community Center, 4783 C W Leach Road, Alliston. In lieu of flowers, donations would be sincerely appreciated by the family to the Matthew’s House Hospice in Alliston; and The Alliston + District Humane Society
