It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Nadler (nee Brown/Braun) at the age of eighty on Wednesday morning, April 24, 2024. Anna was the loving wife of the late Avrum Nadler, mother of Sheryl Nadler, mother and mother-in-law of Wendy Nadler and Mark Edelstein. Cherished Bubbie of Megan and Evan Edelstein and Mya Nadler. Sister and sister-in-law of Seymour and the late Reva Samberg; sister-in-law of Eva and Paul Nadler. Daughter of the late Mania and the late Morris Braun. Close cousin of Renee and Bernie Oppenheim, Debra and Frank Edelberg, and Paula Schneider, close family of Dora and Saul Edelstein. Anna will also be missed by all her nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends across Canada, the United States and Israel.
Anna’s creativity, strength, independence and love for her family and friends knew no bounds. A gifted artist and singer, Anna expressed herself through painting, pastel work and printmaking, belting out Patsy Cline tunes in the car and the kitchen, and had an impeccable eye for home decor. She was a mom who baked her daughters’ favourite holiday treats, hand-sewed their Halloween and Purim costumes and relished every moment spent with her grandchildren, taking great pride in their accomplishments. Anna was a loving wife of Avrum for fifty-one years, and especially in the final difficult years of his life. Anna was also fiercely independent and weathered each new challenge with grace and courage.
The family would like to thank Dr. Walter Gotlieb and his oncology team, as well as Dr. Eleena Pearson and the nurses and staff on the 9th floor at the Jewish General Hospital. They would also like to thank the fantastic staff at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence and caregivers Maggie, Christie, Marissa and Angelina. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. Burial at the Montreal Worker’s Circle Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O.
