Obituary
Passed peacefully away on May 14, 2023 in Summerford, Anita Elizabeth Stanford. She was 54 years of age. She is
predeceased by her parents Maxwell and Mildred Stanford; sisters Olga Williams, Denise Hawkins, Suzanne Stanford; brother Gary Stanford; brother-in-law Danny Broderick; grandparents Archie and Cecilia Stanford, Arthur and Jessie Waterman. Left to mourn her passing is her brother Harvey (Debbie) Stanford; sisters Sharon Broderick and Marilyn Williams; special foster family Maureen and Cliff, Anda Temple, Angela Vineham, Colleen Wells, Clifford Wells; special friends and caregivers Esther Snow, Nanny Snow, Lily Keefe, Agnes Hibbs, Greg Hibbs, Leanne Arch, Emily Earle; special families Joan Rideout Cole, Ava Seymour, Evangeline West.
Anita was born in Bathurst, New Brunswick and moved to Newfoundland at the young age of 3 years. She lived in many beautiful towns in our fair province, some of which were Boyd’s Cove, Glenwood, Botwood, Gambo. Anita dearly loved travelling about in car, enjoying an ice cream treat, and lunch at McDonald’s or Tim Hortons. She has been to Church, weddings, showers, birthday parties, bingo, the library, and walking barefoot on a sandy beach. Not to forget her ride on horseback. Anita had a full fun-filled life and she was happy. She loved and was loved by all who knew her.
Thank you to everyone who gave so cheerfully and unwaveringly enhancing Anita’s life. I know if she could, she would have whispered “Thank you and I love you”. Rest in peace our little miss Anita. We will meet again.
Rev. Don Brett will conduct the funeral service at St. James Anglican Church in Botwood on May 19, 2023. Interment will follow at Botwood Community Cemetery. Pallbearers are Douglas Nichols, Myles Parsons, Greg Hibbs, and Derek Cramm.
