Of Fordwich Village Nursing Home and formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on January 15, 2023, at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Joao Diniz (2005) whom she married October 30, 1955. Loving mother of John (Kelly) of Stratford, Paul (Trish) of Palmerston and Anna Laidlaw (Kevin) of Atwood and the late Raquel who died in infancy. Cherished Vovó of Tyson, Tanner (Stephanie), Tori, Kyle (Melissa), Ryan (Kelsey), Blake (Jaclyn) and Austin. Survived by her sister-in-law Maria Diniz and brother-in-law Anastasio Diniz (Maria). Predeceased by her parents Francisco and Ana (nee Vitoria) Diniz, brother Francisco Diniz and sister Francisca Rego (Mateus). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Ana worked for Campbell Soup for an impressive 30 years. Ana was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Listowel. Ana was a hard worker and was dependable to everyone near and dear to her. She loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for her family. In her spare time, she loved to relax with a glass of wine, work on her crochet projects, and spend time at the trailer. Everyone who knew Ana felt her big heart and giving nature, this was especially known by her grandchildren, spending time with them gave her so much joy.
Visitation for Ana will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the BRENNEMAN FUNERAL HOME, 141 John St. Atwood Ontario from 5 PM – 8 PM. Prayers will be held at 7:30 PM during visitation. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Thursday January 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Listowel. Interment to follow at Elma Centre Cemetery. Donations may be made to Listowel Memorial Hospital, Fordwich Village Nursing Home, or St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church. Online condolences may be left at www.brennemanfuneralhome.ca.
