It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alison Joan Kennedy, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, who left us on November 29, 2024, at the age of 59. Alison was born in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, and spent her life bringing joy, love, and creativity to everyone around her. Alison was the cherished daughter of Darryl and Margaret Kazakoff, who have preceded her in death.
She grew up in a loving household in Quill Lake, where she developed her passion for caring for others, leading her to pursue a career in psychiatric nursing. Alison devoted her professional life to helping those in need, having worked at the Grande Prairie Hospital and the Claresholm Psychiatric Care Facility. Her compassion and dedication to her patients were evident in everything she did.
Alison married her partner, Carl, in a beautiful ceremony in her hometown. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure, welcoming their son, Jesse, and two daughters, Dante, and Gabriel. Alison was a proud mother, devoted to raising her children with the same love and support her parents provided to her. She is survived by her husband Carl, her children, and her siblings Carmen (Andrew), Peter (Tesha), Carla (Darren), and Kelly (Annette). Alison also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, aunts uncles and many friends who cherished her nurturing spirit.
In addition to her family, Alison was known for her many hobbies and interests. She found joy in baking delicious treats, sewing beautiful crafts, and knitting warm garments for her loved ones. An avid camper and explorer, Alison loved to discover new spots in travel with her family, creating lasting memories. Camping at local campgrounds brought her immense joy and relaxation with the close friends they camped with . Radium Valley held a special place for her ass well. A member of the Catholic Church, Alison was deeply committed to her faith and the community.
Alison’s life was tragically cut short due to complications from surgery, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Her warmth, kindness, and creativity will be greatly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where friends and family can gather to honor her remarkable life.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Foothills Hospital cardiology unit. The professionalism and compassion displayed by this team during Alison’s hospital stay were appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choosing in her memory.
Alison Joan Kennedy’s legacy of love, kindness, and creativity will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace.
