Aldege «Andy» Aube
It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the passing of Mr. Aldege (Andy) Aube on February 14, 2024 at the Timmins and District Hospital at the age of 70 years. Leaving behind his loving fiancé Wendy (Lauay), brother Hector, cousin Paul (Dallaire) and many other friends and family. Predeceased by his wife, Rolande Aube (Morrissette) in 2005 and both of his parents. He was born in Foleyet, Ontario and lived in and around the Kirkland Lake area and went to school in Kirkland Lake. Andy moved to Timmins in 1983.
Andy was a standing pillar at Community Living Timmins Integration Communautaire, dating well back into the early 80’s. He lived at Toke Street Residence for several years then moved into his own apartment and was supported by the Supported Independent Living Program up to his admission to Extendicare in 2022. Although at Extendicare, Andy was happy to maintain services with the Passport Program through Community Living Timmins. Andy moved on to make new friends but never forgot the lifelong friendships he made as he enjoyed getting together over tea or a game of cards. He always kept his friends and family close to his heart.
Andy was well known throughout the community. In his earlier days, he could be found walking around town with his ‘boom box’ playing Elvis Presley or his old country favorites with his signature cowboy hat, hand in hand with his sweetheart Rolande.
Andy’s hobbies were weightlifting, playing cards, and listening to music and dancing. He loved the bush and often helped friends with cutting cords of wood. His strength was amazing.
To this day, playing cards, listening to music, having a music and movie collection, making beaded jewellery, and sharing his interests with Wendy and friends was what was important to him and made him happy.
Andy was a man of strong Roman Catholic faith. He faithfully prayed with his Bible and wore his crucifix proudly. He had a big heart, he would do whatever he could to help in any way possible. Andy had a hearty laugh that filled the room with joy wherever he went.
Andy will be missed by all. It was a pleasure being part of his life and learning so much from him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11am followed by a small luncheon at 166 Brousseau Ave., Timmins, On. Interment at the cemetery will follow at a later date.
Family and close friends are welcomed. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, ON
