Leonore Agnes Uhl, known affectionately by all as Agnes, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2023, in Regina, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband, Werner in 1995. Agnes was born on March 20, 1935, in Silton, Saskatchewan to Mary and Ludwig Triffo. She was the eldest of nine siblings and had an inherent sense of responsibility and love for her family that carried on throughout her life. Agnes will be forever remembered by her children; son Dave (Nancy) Uhl, daughter’s Cathy (Dave) Labbie and Patty (Art) Smith; as well as her seven granddaughters’ Cristy, Lindsay, Sheri, Kelly, Amy, Jordan, and Jessica. Agnes had 19 great-grandchildren whom loved her dearly. She will be missed by many, including her brother Barry (Jean); her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Agnes was an avid fan of country music, with favorites including Charley Pride, Waylon Jennings, and Elvis Presley. A talented crocheter, she crafted many beautiful items, each stitch made with love and care. Agnes was a devoted follower of the Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, priding herself on being their biggest fan and knowing all there was to know about the teams. She was a beacon of positivity and kindness to all who knew her. Agnes had a unique ability to make people feel loved, valued, and special. Her sense of humour was infectious, and she had a knack for making everyone around her laugh. Agnes’ generosity knew no bounds; she gave freely and without expectation, always putting others before herself.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the hospital staff on 6F at Regina’s General Hospital for their support and service to Agnes. The funeral will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Thursday November 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. After the funeral, guests are invited to join her family for refreshments. The interment will be held at Strasbourg Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
