Obituary of Adrienne Jeanette Cail
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Adrienne Jeanette Cail, beloved daughter of Jeanette «Gaye» (Andrews) Cail and James Leslie Cail, sister to Mark Cail and sister-in-law of Carla (Hovey) Cail.
Adrienne was born in Fredericton, NB, on January 30, 1983, and passed away peacefully at Hospice Fredericton on September 4, 2024. She resided at Enhanced Living Special Care Home in Oromocto for several years. The staff affectionately called her their “Princess”. Adrienne was known for her infectious giggle and big beautiful smile.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Freda J. Andrews (Tewksbury) and Leo E. Andrews; paternal grandparents, Pauline Cail (McFawn) and Carroll H. Cail; aunts, Sandra MacDonald and Joyce Andrews; uncle, Sam Robinson, and cousin Andre Barteau.
As a child, she loved riding her pony, visiting grandparents in Saint Andrews and at the cottage on Maquapit Lake. She was competitive gymnast, loved collecting music CD’s and creating family photo albums. Adrienne graduated from Fredericton High School in 2001, attended St. Thomas University and held a Make-Up Artist and an Assistant Hairstylist license.
With great strength and courage, she battled an undiagnosed illness for 23 years. She loved going on vacation with her family to the Bahamas and Florida and loved The Backstreet Boys, she convinced her family to take her to several of their concerts. She was an avid country music fan too.
Adrienne will truly be missed by her niece Janelle Cail, her aunts and uncles, Denise and Jim King, Jennie and Jerry Andrews, Carol and Jim Lockhart, Helen Robinson, Doug MacDonald, several cousins and Sherry Coulton, with whom she shared a special bond.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Hospice Fredericton for their compassion and support in her final days, and to Dr. Ewa Pniak, whom she adored. Also to Dr. Tom Barry and Dr. David Barry for their devotion and commitment to Adrienne’s care and to the staff of Enhanced Living Oromocto who gave Adrienne dignity and quality of life.
A memorial gathering will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton on Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 3:00 – 4:30 pm. Words of Remembrance will begin at 3:30 pm. For those who wish, donations in Adrienne’s memory may be made to Hospice Fredericton, the IWK or your local SPCA.
