Adolph’s Obituary
It’s with the saddest hearts that we announce the passing of a great husband, dad and Gramp. For 44 years, he was happily married to the one and only love of his life, our mom, Lorraine.
Born in Meteghan, he was a son of the late Edward and Josephine (Boudreau) Trahan.
Dad was a gentle giant. He was a hard worker who spent over 50 years of his life lobster fishing to provide for our family. Even though he was retired for the last 2 years, he still went for his daily ride to the wharf.
Dad was an outdoorsman; he loved hunting and fishing. But his most favorite pastime was heading to the camp with a whiskey drink and his bass guitar. Anywhere dad was you could be sure there was going to be tunes! He was a jokester through and through. Anyone who knew him knew to always expect a wise crack to warrant a laugh.
Of all the things Dad did in his life, being a Gramp was his most cherished. He loved his grandkids more than anything in the world. No matter what, no matter where, no matter when he was ready to do anything for them. He had so much pride watching Ashton and Finn play hockey. He wouldn’t miss a game! And whatever the girls Layla, Aria and Ivy wanted, Gramp would never hesitate. He wore many titles.. taxi driver, cheerleader, couch cuddles and everything in between.
Dad is survived by our mom, his loving wife, Lorraine; daughters, Tammy Maillet (Gilles) and Kelly (Mike) Wilkinson; brother, Paul; grandchildren, Layla, Ashton, Aria, Finn and Ivy; step-grandchildren, Rowan, Reese and Chloe; step-father, Wildred LeBlanc; nieces, nephews and many extended family. He was predeceased by his sister, Gloria Samms.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held Saturday, August 3rd at 3 pm in Stella Maris Cemetery, Meteghan Centre. A gathering of fellowship will follow to share happy memories of Adolph at the Meteghan Fire Hall.
Donations in Adolph’s memory may be made to Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program.
We love you Forever and ever, Gramp. You gave us the best life and for that we are forever grateful. Xoxo Until we meet again.
