It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Murray Laird Peterson in Calgary at the age of 78 years.
Murray is survived by his partner of over 28 years, Kathy Kennedy, their daughter Cassidy Peterson; sons from his previous marriage, Robert Peterson (Sandra); Brian Peterson (Alina & granddaughters’ Jordon and Allie); stepson Kody Kennedy; Siblings, Dave Peterson (Lois); Shelley Rutherford (Barry); as well as numerous nephews and In-laws.
Murray was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Cherry Peterson.
Murray graduated the top of his class with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. He will be remembered by his many friends in the oil and gas industry where he worked primarily with Husky Energy, Nova and Lloydminster Maintenance (LML) in an engineering and construction capacity. His expertise was engaged to build pipelines, plants and running turnarounds projects including the at Lloydminster Bi-Provincial Upgrader and numerous Sask Power Plants.
A Celebration of Murray’s Life will be held at the Canmore Opera House at Spring Creek, 400 Spring Creek Dr., Canmore, Alberta T1W 0C8
on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 3:00 – 5:30 p.m.
