In loving memory of Douglas Yeo who passed away suddenly on November 27, 2024, at Health Sciences North.
Beloved husband of Sandra (predeceased). Loving father of Thomas Yeo (predeceased) (wife Dr. Melissa Stonley) and Melissa DiCarlantonio (husband Jeffrey). Much loved Papa and biggest supporter of Anakin and Violet DiCarlantonio and Benjamin Yeo. Cherished son of Edward and Joan Yeo, both predeceased. Adored brother of Bill (wife Laurie) of Florida, Jack (predeceased) (wife Margaret) of Sudbury and Patricia (husband Gerry) of Victoria.
Doug was a kind and humble man. He was always there to talk to or offer help and guidance. He particularly enjoyed his Wednesday morning breakfasts with some of his closest friends in his retirement.
Doug was a long-time member of the Sudbury Credit Union family and took great pride in his work there as Chief Credit Officer. Douglas also served as a member of the Board of Directors with the Northern Cancer Research Foundation.
With Sandy, he enjoyed travelling and seeing the world. They had many adventures over the years with some of their most memorable trips being spent with close friends and family, including Jamaica for Melissa and Jeffrey’s wedding, the Mayan Riviera, Las Vegas and Spain.
Family was always a priority for Douglas. Whether showing up unexpectedly with Tim Hortons for an impromptu weekend morning visit, to picking up grandkids who had missed the bus or felt unwell, to going to almost every hockey rink in Sudbury to watch Benjamin play hockey, there was no doubt that he was all about family, and the most amazing Papa to his grandchildren.
In remembrance of Douglas and in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation – Love your Liver Campaign (www.lhsf.ca/douglasyeo ) or to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
