Joyce Esther Brown
– 94, of Kentville, formerly of New Minas, passed away
peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, November 4, 2024, in
the Valley Hospice, Kentville. Born in Canning, she was a daughter of
the late Harry and Esther (Redden) North. Joyce was a loving and
caring mother who always put her family first and was a devoted
caregiver to her grandchildren. She had been employed with Knit
N’ Stich, New Minas, and was a dedicated volunteer with
Kentville Minor Baseball for many years. She enjoyed walks around New
Minas with her friend Betty Weir and will be sadly missed by all who
knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, Wanda Butler
(Alan Burbidge), Delap’s Cove and Cheryl (John) Ferguson,
New Minas; a son-in-law, Harley Eisner, Coldbrook; grandchildren,
Angie (Doug) Clark, Stephanie (Greg) Eaton, Nathan (Brandy) Eisner,
Jason (Kristen) Brown, Aimee (Stephen) Eisner-Strong, Colin (Haley)
Brown, Evan Brown, Pam Ferguson (Devan Smith) and Mike Ferguson;
great-grandchildren, Brodie, Jesse (Madison), Kenzie, Garret, Kaylen,
Gage, Colten, Hailie, Alex, Gavin, Emersyn, Cole, Blake, Chloe; great
great-grandchildren, Clay and Oakley; several nieces, nephews,
extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric;
a daughter, Sharon «Kim» Eisner; a son, Bradford
«Brad; A granddaughter, Megan Butler; a son-in-law, Gary
Butler; siblings, Verna Stephenson, Rowena Lockyer, Frederick North,
Emerson North, Elaine Robinson and Marilyn Hubbard. She was the last
surviving member of her immediate family. Cremation has taken place. A
service and reception celebrating Joyce’s life will be held
at 2:00 p.m. on November 12, 2024 in the White Family Funeral Home,
Kentville. For those unable to attend, a livestream will be available.
Interment will take place in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill.
Donations in memory may be made to the Valley Hospice Foundation.
