Obituary
Passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family, at the Miller Centre, on Friday, September 20, 2024, Edna Mary St. Croix (nee Stamp), of St. Vincent’s, St. Mary’s Bay, aged 96 years.
Predeceased by her husband Peter, son Gabriel, parents Edward & Catherine Stamp; sisters: Anna (John), Ethel (Bill), Carmel (Bob) and Mary (Peter); brothers: Jerome, Larry (Rita), George (Anita) and Mike (Theresa), son-in-law Gary Zamzow, brother-in-law Gerard St. Croix and other members of the St. Croix and Stamp families.
Leaving to mourn with fond memories three daughters: Sylvia, Phyllis (John) and Audrey (Al), two sons Peter (Cora) and Malcolm (Gabriella), sister Marg St. Croix, sister-in-law Evelyn and many nieces, nephews, extended family members of the St. Croix and Stamp families and her many friends and kind neighbours, especially Mary Fleming, Jeanette Hayward and her card playing “buddies”.
A special thank you is extended to her dedicated homecare worker Cynthia Hayward; to the doctors, nurses and staff of 6 East – St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital and Palliative Care for all the care and comfort shown to Mom and our family over the past week; to the staff of NL Health Ambulance Service (and former Gibbons’ Ambulance Service) and to Todd and Staff of St. Mary’s Pharmacy for all your care and support over the years.
Resting at the Fr. Battcock Memorial Chapel, St. Vincent’s, on Monday, September 23, from 4 – 8pm and Tuesday, September 24, 12 – 8pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 25, at 11am, at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent’s. Burial to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made for the care and upkeep of the church, to the St. Vincent’s Sacred Heart Church Corporation, in care of the family.
