GOLDSWORTHY: Winifred – on Monday September 5, 2022 Winifred Elizabeth Goldsworthy (MacCallum) passed away peacefully at her home in New Hamburg at the age of 77. Wini was born December 11, 1944 in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Beloved wife of Harley, whom she married October 23, 1965. Loving mother of daughter Susan January 30, 2009 and her husband Luigi Laudano of New Hamburg and son Terry and his wife Judi of Cambridge. Cherished and missed by her brother Norm and wife Kathy MacCallum of Hamilton, uncle George and wife Eileen MacCallum of Moncton, New Brunswick. Wini was the loving grandmother of grandchildren Grace (Kyle) Murphy of Ingersoll, Alex and Suzie Laudano of New Hamburg, and Jessica and Madison Goldsworthy of Cambridge. Also missed by great grandchildren Karson and Emily Murphy, along with many sisters and brothers in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Lottie MacCallum, father and mother in-law Gordon and Marguerite Goldsworthy.
Wini was an active member of Zion United Church and was always there to help with church, Optimist or other events around town. She worked for many years as the office manager at Nith Valley Construction in New Hamburg. Wini enjoyed time spent with family and grandchildren, talking with friends, listening to music, travelling, theatre, knitting and crocheting, crossword puzzles, genealogy, and was a voracious reader. In the kitchen, she cooked and baked with ease and her donuts, brownies, rice crispy squares and other treats will forever remind us of her for years to come.
Family and friends are invited to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg, on Sunday, September 11, 2022, from 1-4 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Zion United Church in New Hamburg on Monday, September 12, 2022 at 11am followed by a reception. A private family internment will be held at a future date.
