Vera’s Obituary
Peacefully, with family by her side at Summit Place, Owen Sound, Thursday morning May 26, 2022. Vera May Playter (nee Stentiford) of Markdale in her 99th year.
Beloved wife of the late Walter Playter (2005). Loving mother of Phyllis Playter Hodgkinson (Ron) Berkeley; Norman (Jackie) Owen Sound; Gordon (Christina) Fort Frances; Melvin (Debby) Owen Sound, and Douglas (Bridget) Durham. Predeceased by sons Earl (2016) & Harold (2020). Cherished grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of 28, plus a newborn coming in July; a great-great-grandmother of 2. Special aunt to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John C. Stentiford & Eva May (Jones), brothers Allan Stentiford (Lorraine Rogers) and Jack Stentiford.
Visitation will be held at the May Funeral Home, Markdale on Sunday May 29th from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Monday May 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. (visitation one hour prior to the service). Interment in Markdale Cemetery.
