MacDonald, Ursula Pearl,
age 84, formerly of Black Avon, passed away peacefully at the home of
her daughter Ann Vigneau in Addington Forks on December 29,
2022.
Born in
Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (MacNeil)
Callahan.
Pearl was the
last surviving member of her large immediate family. She
loved social gathering s and having family around. She was an
excellent cook, well known for her ginger cake. She loved travelling,
never wanted to miss bingo, and enjoyed a good game of
crib. Pearl’s grandchildren and great
grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is
survived by her children: Francis (Debby), Fraser’s Grant;
Roddie (Natalie), South River; Anne (Paul) Vigneau, Addington Forks;
John (Judy), Black Avon; Michael, St Francis Harbour; sixteen
grandchildren; Frankie, Peter, Scott, Alyson, Gena, Jillian, Brittany,
Katie, Tracey, Amanda, Cory, Melissa, Ashley, Dawson, Corey and Will;
twenty-two great grandchildren; sisters in law, Mary
(Francis) Rossong and Judy Callahan; brothers in law, William Benoit
and Stephen Oakley.
She was
predeceased by her husband of fifty-two years, William; son,
John Peter, in infancy; brothers: Jim, Bernard, Sandy, Joe, Frances;
sisters: Mary, Anne, Theresa, Marie and
Isabel.
Visitation
will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be in
Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton on Monday at 11:00 am with
Reverend Dennis Lamey presiding. Burial in the Parish
