On November 12, 2022, our beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend left us and is now with our creator God, flying high above the ski watching over us all. She is present, giving us the strength to move forward, giving us hope that life will give us purpose and giving us direction to follow the right path.
Taylynn was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to her parents Elaina Catcheway and Brad Stevenson on June 27, 2006. We knew there was going to be complications and challenges throughout her life. She had a heart of gold, loved everyone and touched so many lives. We must now let her gentle spirit go for her final journey home, but she will always be with us in our hearts.
She leaves to mourn her mom Elaina Catcheway, her dad Brad Stevenson, her siblings Trae, Jessy, Taryn, Tiara, Nicholas, Tyson and Brandy-Leigh, her kokos Hazel Catcheway, uncles Darcy (Melissa), Gordie (Charmaine), kokos Joanne Stevenson, aunts and uncles Roxanne (Matt), Reva, Conrad, Peter (Margaret), Jessica, Colleen (Bradley), Lawrence, Mavis, William, special aunts and uncles Shannon Nepinak, Dave Ferland, Colin Ferland, Cody Genaille, Lorette Ferland, Deloris Ferland, Amanda Guiboche, Rhonda Gabriel and numerous friends and family.
She is predeceased by her sister Taylor, grandmother Myrtle, great-grandparents, uncle Ron, auntie Yvonne Stevenson, cousin Steven, great-aunt Molly, great-great-grandparents Nora, Louis, Rosalio and Ernest.
Taylynn, more affectionally known and “Pookie” went to school in Dauphin, Whitmore and in Winnipeg at the Golden Gate. At the time of her passing, she was attending grade 9 at St. John’s School.
She enjoyed home-economics and wanted to become a baker. Pookie also had an interest in sign language interpreter (SLI) and designing her own house. Her favorite movies were horror movies and watching TikTok videos. She loved being with her friends but the rule was always to call her Taylynn, or else!
She was very gentle and cared for everybody that crossed her life. She was her mom’s helper when cooking for the family and being with her dad when they sat outside.
All-night wake service will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
