Siebie Orr Tuesday December 20th 2022 avis de deces

Orr, Siebentje (Siebie) MacDowell ( nee deKleine )
Peacefully, at the Brockville General Hospital on December 20th with her loving family at her side.
Born on February 23, 1945, in Hillegom, The Netherlands, during World War 2 at home by candlelight.
Predeceased by her parents Berend deKleine and Janna (Wichertjes) deKleine and her loving husband of 40 years, David MacDowell. Predeceased as well are Aukje (Helen) Ruyf (Gerry), Dick deKleine (Alice), Roelie Schaafsma (Dick), and John deKleine,
Siebie is survived by her loving husband Robert (Robin) and her loving son Andrew MacDowell, his wonderful wife Kim, Grandchildren, Cuyler and Mikaela MacDowell and Cole and Noelle Morrison, Brothers Laurens (Betty), Sister-in-law Roelie deKleine and Ralph (Connie).
Also surviving are Brothers-in-law David (Judy) Orr, Richard Orr and daughter Karen Morrison (John), and many nieces and nephews.
Siebie emigrated to Canada in 1953 at the age of 8 with her family and settled at Row’s Corners, just north of Brockville, Ontario. The family later moved to Brockville. She then moved to Maitland for 20 wonderful years with her first husband David, and eventually back to Brockville, where they very much enjoyed traveling.
Siebie attended the one room school at Row’s Corners, Victoria Annex Brockville, Lyn Public School, BCI, and Brockville Business College.
She worked for Cossitt Insurance after graduating from Brockville Business College, and after her children were in school, worked in retail women’s clothing at Society Girl, Capricorn Classics, Victorian Village, and retired after many years at Young’s of Prescott.
In 2012 she married Robin and they moved to Country Club Place, Brockville for over 10 happy years. They traveled extensively including East and West coasts of Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe.
A very talented cook, she enjoyed giving dinner parties, to the great delight of those attending. She always said cooking was her hobby, and her family and friends all knew just how good she was.
Siebie also enjoyed biking, walking, swimming, gardening, reading, boating, picnicking, traveling, and being with people; especially her grandchildren.
Special thanks to all the medical staff who helped her throughout the last few years: Dr. Beattie, Dr. Ashe, Dr. VeraBadillo KGH, the staff at the Brockville ACU, and the staff at the BGH Palliative Care; especially Dr. Hoyeck, Shannon, Deb, Francine, Carol Ann, Karen, Kelly, Nancy, and Josie. You all made her feel so much better.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Unit will be gratefully acknowledged.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockville on Wednesday December 28th from 11am until 1 pm when a celebration of Siebie’s life will be held in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
