Shaun Raymond Corbett 2022 avis de deces

The family of Mr. Shaun Raymond Corbett, age 64, of Benacadie Pond is saddened to announce his sudden passing on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Shaun was a loving, kind, generous, and humorous husband, father, grandfather, and friend, fondly remembered as a gentle giant. He always put family first.
Born in Sydney on June 19, 1958, Shaun was born to a family of eight siblings and grew up in Whitney Pier. He attended Holy Redeemer, making lifelong friends, and playing baseball and hockey.
He loved water from a young age and was a strong swimmer. He was raised religious with honesty, integrity, and strength, never wavering from his beliefs.
Shaun spent his working years at Weatherbee’s (Sydney Memorial Chapel) and enjoyed working closely with Wayne, John, and Kollin Weatherbee, Fred Lynk and Evelyn and Fred at Peters Construction. He spent the last 15 years working for City Wide Taxi until he retired in 2020. He met the love of his life in 1992 and they married on August 26, 1995 and resided in Westmount, NS. After many wonderful years on Applecross Drive, Shaun and Lillian moved to the country in the early 2000s and called Benacadie Pond home. For each home, he loved gardening and planting hundreds of trees in his lifetime. He cherished his veggie garden each year, always appreciating every fall harvest.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; daughter, Donna; sons, Ian (Heather) and Todd; grandchildren, Evan, Amanda (Mitchell), Bryson (Morissa), Jillian, Gage, Cole, and Noah; sister, Colleen; nephews, friends, neighbours, and many loved ones including his cats, Ginger and Pumpkin.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Margaret (Quinn) Corbett; sister, Pricilla Waddel; and brothers, Gerald “Jed”, James, Patrick, Ronald, and Melvin.
Shaun was a caring father and grandfather, always spending time with family. He will be remembered as the number one BBQ master and cook. His delicious chicken soup recipe will be missed. His favourite way to spend time was with his grandkids. He spent time taking his grandkids swimming, fishing, enjoying nature walks, campfires, and letting them always pick out what to watch on TV. He was an enormous animal lover, having loved many dogs and cats with his wife. He was so gentle he built a nest in a drawer in his workshop for the little moles to live in for the winter months. In the winter he liked snowshoeing and tobogganing with his grandchildren.
He will be remembered for always being an avid sports fan loving WWE, hockey, and baseball. He never missed watching a major hockey game and always cheered for his favourite teams. He loved traveling with his loved ones. He loved weekend trips to Cheticamp, bus trips to Maine, visiting family in Ontario and Alberta, and tropical vacations down south. He loved picnics on the beach with his wife and dogs. Every Friday night, he would go to the Iona Legion with his wife and friends. He was a romantic and liked the quiet times where they would dance on the patio at night listening to quiet music and watching the stars. He always left his wife little messages on the phone while he was working and leaving, “I just called to say I love you.”
There will be a service on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at 2 p.m. in Sydney Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Murphy officiating.
