Obituary
Seymour died peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the age of 79 years. He died at the Placentia Health Centre surrounded by his wife and two children.
Seymour is predeceased by his parents, Levi and Charity; brothers, Jim and Gilbert; and sister, Phoebe.
Left to carry on his memory are loving wife, Ida; son, Dennis (Philip); daughter, Christine (Scott); grandchildren, Charity, Gabriel, Gracelyn, and Julia; his siblings, Garland (Peggy), Cyril (Doreen), and Lizzie (Levi); as well as sisters-in-law, Grace and Gladys; and brother-in-law, Derm.
The Newhook family want to express their gratitude to the many friends and family who visited or delivered meals over the past few weeks. Seymour took great comfort in the companionship of his closest friends Don, Harold, Rex, Wally, and Ricky, to name only a few. He recounted many happy memories of fishing, hunting, and merriment with his friends–da b’ys–at their camp in Millertown. The family also extend thanks to Seymour’s homecare support worker Joan Warren and the caring staff at the Placentia Health Centre.
Cremation has taken place.
A visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 16 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo.
A service to commemorate his life will be held at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo on Wednesday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. Livestreaming will be available through this link for those unable to attend in person fb.me/e/208lE8SPT . Date of inurnment for the Good Shepherd Anglican Cemetery to be determined.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Seymour’s memory may be made to Norman’s Cove Long Cove Fire Department.
