It is with great sadness to announce that Elizabeth May Schmidt passed away peacefully in
her sleep on November 12 2022 at the age of 82 years.
Elizabeth is survived by sister Jean Hanas (Safronie), sons Reg Schmidt (Katharina), Randy
Schmidt (Karen) and granddaughters Courtney and Jilleah. Also Katharina’s daughter
Christina (Frank) and sister Julie Mason (David) who formed a special bond with
“Momma Reg” over the last number of years.
Liz was predeceased by her husband Ivan, parents Mary and Anton Cieslinski and daughter
in-law Corinne Schmidt.
Mom’s “life” as we know it today really began shortly after her cardiac surgery in 2013. She
realized how precious life was and became the wonderful social person we knew. Liz
touched so many hearts with her strong presence and keen sense of humor. She leaves
behind so many good friends who enjoyed her company at the Mulhurst Quilt Club, various
social groups in the community, as well as many old friends.
