Obituary
Ruth passed away peacefully at Gateway Haven in Wiarton on July 1, 2022. Born in Owen Sound on May 8, 1927, Ruth Elizabeth Waite (née Hurlbut), was in her 96th year.
Loving mother of Alan and Doris Waite and Roy and Lorna Waite, all of Kemble. Cherished grandma of Eric, Ryan (Erin), Rodney (Paula), Ashley (Trevor), and great grandma of Lucy, Adam, Jack, Cole, Drew and Hunter. Dear sister of Mary Cole of Owen Sound, and sister-in-law of John Dickinson of Stratford. Ruth will also be missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by her husband Ken Waite (Oct. 9, 1990), brother Bob Hurlbut (Bernice), her sister Lorraine Dickinson, and by her brother-in-law Cecil Cole.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruth’s life will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 – 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 1 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. The service will be led by Rev. Heather McCarrel, a reception will immediately follow the service then interment will take place in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Georgian Bluffs.
