Ruth Ann Holland Friday August 26th 2022 avis de deces

Mrs. Ruth Ann Holland, age 82 years, a resident of Kakabeka Falls, and formerly a long-time resident of Conmee Township, passed away at home on Friday, August 26, 2022, with family by her side.
Ruth Ann was born on June 26, 1940 in Fort William and was raised on her grandparents’ farm in Slate River before moving to Kakabeka Falls at the age of twelve. It was in Kakabeka that she met her husband, Francis Holland. They were married on June 16, 1960 and built their first of two homes in Conmee Township, where they raised their family. Following retirement, they built their current home in Kakabeka Falls. Ruth Ann worked at the Credit Bureau and Western Supplies, and in 1972 Francis and Ruth Ann opened Holland’s Auto Body. She served as a Councillor for the Township of Conmee in the mid 70’s, and in 1982 she started working for the Township of Conmee as the Deputy Clerk-Treasurer, retiring in 1998. During her time working for the Township, she continued her role in the family business. Ruth Ann volunteered on many community and business groups throughout her life. Ruth Ann enjoyed time spent with her family and many friends, both at home and at their camp on Huronian Lake, where many games of cards and dominoes were played over the years. She had a warm heart, a beautiful smile and always treated everybody with kindness. She is often described as the “sweetest” person. Her door was always open to her family and many friends for coffee and goodies or a meal. You never left her home with an empty stomach. Her greatest love was taking care of her family.
Ruth Ann is survived by her husband of 62 years Francis; her sons Raymond (Colleen) and Kevin (Lori); grandchildren Joe (Melissa), Kyle (Laura), Amanda, Grace (Tom) and Michael (Bre); great grandchildren Tyler, Thomas, Hannah, Charlotte, Hayley, Lydia, Penelope and Elsie; sister Donna Fleming (Greg); brothers-in-law Ralph Holland, Dale Holland (Mary-K) and Bob Foreman; special niece Christine Hurrie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
She was predeceased by her beloved grandparents Ma & Pa Lamke; mother Naomi, step-father Rex Jackson; parents-in-law Frank & Marguerite Holland; and sisters-in-law Ruthie Holland and Reba Foreman.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the Conmee Community Centre, 19 Holland Road West, Kakabeka Falls. Visitation will begin at noon with services at 1:00 p.m., followed by a luncheon after interment in the Conmee Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT FUNERAL CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
The family is very grateful to have been able to provide care at home until she received her angel wings. This was made possible with the help of her care givers Kim, Kat, Jessica, Chloe and Tracey, as well as Elizabeth and Aaron from St. Elizabeth’s Health Care. Our family was given strength by the many visits from dear friends Pat & Tony, Glen, Cheri and Rosemary.
While we grieve the loss of a beautiful soul from our family, we feel blessed to have had her in our life.
