After a long battle with cancer and numerous health issues, Ronald (Ron) Plain, has started his Spirit Journey on July 4, 2022. Ron is survived by his wife Verlynn (White) Plain, daughters Amanda, M’nodeh, and son, M’skwa-Mukwa. Sisters Linda (Pat Green), Heather Plain, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Ron will be greatly missed by brothers (in-law) Robert (April), Raymond, Roger, John, and Richard, and sisters (in-law) Dorothy, Norma (Tony), and Patricia. Predeceased by parents Ronald and Anne Plain.
Ron’s life travels have taken him across Turtle Island, gaining him life experience and skills along the way. He also enjoyed travelling the Pow Wow trail as a singer, drummer and vendor. He finally settled in his family territory of Aamjiwnaang, where he was a part of the Environmental Activist group that brought Aamjiwnaang into the global spotlight, leading to invitations to speak globally on environmental issues.
There will be a visitation at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1576 London Line, Sarnia, on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., with a celebration of life service to follow at 12:00 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia.
