Obituary
Capt. Snelgrove, Robert William (Bob) formerly of Shelburne NS passed away on 21 September 2022 at Villa St Joseph-Du-Lac in Yarmouth. Born in Parry Sound ON, on 5 February 1946 and is the late son of Norman and Veryl (Thorne) Snelgrove and step son to the late Bernice Snelgrove.
He is missed by his sisters, Jill Snelgrove, Pamela Paul, and Dawn-Marie Skjelmose. Bob joined the Canadian Military 1964 and was stationed all across Canada and an UN tour in Egypt. His last postings were in CFB Trenton and CFB Shelburne. While serving at a few bases including CFB Alert he became the radio DJ since he loved music. After retiring from a full 30 year career in the Air Force, Bob stayed in Shelburne and was active on the town council and with volunteering at the curling club and other town events.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne. There will be a visitation for friends to share stories and memories of “Bob”, which will take place on Friday September 30th from 12 – 2 pm. The visitation will be at the Huskilson’s Funeral Chapel, 58 Bulkley Street, Shelburne, Nova Scotia. Donations in his name may be made to a charity of choice. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Villa St. Joseph for the excellent care given to Bob during his stay.
