Obituary
On July 11, 2022, God called Richard home to heaven at the age of 77.
Richard N Gabert was born on November 20, 1944 in Edmonton AB, the oldest of five children born to Gustav and Lillian Gabert. He attended country school at Deep Creek, then graduated Fort Saskatchewan High.
On January 7, 1968 he was united in marriage with Ivy in a unique traveling wedding.
Richard started farming at a young age, buying his first Herefords in 1963, and re-purchasing the family line of Percheron horses in 1978. Richard worked at Sheritt Fertilizer plant before moving the family to Manning in 1980. Richard, Ivy and the 3 children were all active in the community.
Richard was a humble man, often staying in the background, but always connected to his family, church, and community.
Richard is survived by his children; Andrew (Feena), Keith (Carla), Barb (Char) as well as grandchildren Mathew, Katherine, Emma and Grace.
Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years Ivy in 2020.
Funeral Services for the late Richard & Ivy Gabert will be held from the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bruderheim, AB at 1:30pm with interment to follow at the Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery.
