Fricke, Richard Carl Ernst Otto
Richard was born in Halberstadt, Germany on January 24, 1928 and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
Richard immigrated to Canada in 1953 and settled in Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. He was joined shortly thereafter by his wife and daughter. In 1966 the family moved to Toronto with friends and family. He enjoyed visiting the Rockies, Manitoulin Island, Naples Florida and Germany.
Richard had been for many years the Vice President of the Mercedes Benz Club of Canada, and a longtime member of the Kiwanis Club. He has also been a member of the Waterloo Wellington Pigeon Racing Club and the German-Canadian Hunting and Fishing Club.
Richard will be missed by his beloved wife of 72 years Johanna, their daughter Sigrid Janke, son Richard Ulli Fricke (Judith), grandchildren Mike Janke (Tina), Greg Janke (Melissa), Krista Janke, Josh Fricke and Brittany Fricke and his great-grandchildren Hunter, Isla, Adelaide and Aubrey.

Richard’s family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St. Kitchener (519) 749-8467.
