The family sadly announces the passing of Rhea on January 13, 2022, at the age of 88.
Rhea was predeceased in 2018 by her loving husband of 66 years, Jules Bilodeau, and is survived by her six children.
She will forever live in the hearts of her family; Diane (Andy), Gilbert (Carol), Jocelyne (Duane), Normand (Katherine), Lionel (Jennie), and Marc (Kristie); daughter-in-law, Darcy; her 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Rachelle; brothers, Normand (Shirley), and Raymond; many nieces and nephews; numerous extended relatives; and friends, near and far.
Rhea was predeceased by her son, Richard; sisters, Annette, Delores, Laura, and Lucienne; and brothers, Leonard and Jerome.
Rhea was born in Montmartre, Saskatchewan, on June 26, 1933. After marrying the love of her life, they settled in Edmonton to raise their family. As a warm and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rhea devoted all of her time to her loved ones, leaving a legacy that is still shared today. Always kind and never to turn one away, Rhea made time for everyone – entertaining and creating wonderful occasions at her home and family cottage. She spent many years working at BonTon bakery, and she completed her career at Holy Cross School as a committed member of the school team.
Rhea’s profound faith kept her joyful and steadfast throughout all of her years. Vital to her life, mom’s faith stood as a pillar during difficult times and carried her through to be the kind and tender-hearted person that many knew her to be.
Above all, Rhea will be fondly remembered as a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, by her joie de vivre, her kindness, her beauty, and her grace. Adorning to all that knew her are grand memories of banquets, dinner parties, reunions, and anniversaries. For “Memere”, a perfect day was spent at her cottage lake, surrounded by her family, watching the children play, sharing great food, and waiting to do it all again tomorrow. We are heartbroken at our loss, yet celebrate the incredible life with tremendous gratitude for the love she freely gave.
