Obituary
Mary «Alice» Lowis (nee Fowler) was born in Endiang, AB June 16, 1928. Her parents homesteaded on a farm south of Halkirk, AB and that is where she grew up with her 9 Siblings. Alice was the middle daughter. After her school days Alice worked as an Aid on the maternity ward at the Camrose hospital.
At the age of 21 she met her soon to be husband John «Eric» Lowis. After they married, they moved around continuously with Eric’s work, eventually settling in Stettler, AB., where they lived for 18 years. Yet another move took them to the Vernon, BC area where they enjoyed the BC climate from 1975 to 1995.
The draw to be closer to family brought them back to AB where they again settled into small town life in Bashaw, AB and later Camrose, AB until Eric passed away in 2007. Alice relocated to High River and later Okotoks lodges to be closer to her siblings. She had been at Tudor Manor in Okotoks, AB until her passing on July 29th, 2022, at age 94…the last of her 9 siblings.
Alice will be remembered for her love of family, always caring nature, her sense of humor and her joke telling to put a smile on a face or share some laughter.
Alice is survived by her daughters Barbara, Lynne, Deb (Larry), granddaughters Jennifer, Jacquelyn, Katherine, Tara, and Lisa and 3 great grandchildren.
