Mrs. Marilyn Joyce Gardiner
Peacefully at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Cobourg on Sunday December 18, 2022 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Nelson Gardiner for over 66 years. Her sons Mark (Dawn Watson), and Andrew (Lisa) helped enrich her life.
Twin granddaughters Madelene (Jay) and Rebecca (Blake) were followed by her grandson Jackson.
Daughter of Hazel and Arthur Bristow. Sister of Judy Lemieux, Janice Hamel (Lou) and the late Eric Bristow, and Doreen Low.
Marilyn enjoyed community work in the church and with the church ladies. She helped with Hope Township senior euchre sessions, also with a weekly church yard sale near Stoney Lake in the Summertime.
A passion for plants (and their names) was a great pleasure for her. She also knit many, many sweaters.
Her work included about 19 years of elementary school teaching as well as some supply teaching until her retirement in 1967.
A celebration of life will be held in the new year.
