Lyndon Ray Helm and Marilynne Joyce Helm Forster 2022 avis de deces

With the heaviest of hearts, we announce the passing of our parents, Marilynne Joyce Helm (Forster) and Lyndon Ray Helm. Marilynne passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2020, and Lyndon passed away peacefully on January 31st, 2022.
Lyndon was predeceased by parents Albert and Violet Helm, his older sister Sharon and younger brother James (Jim). Marilynne was predeceased by parents George “Reg” and Hazel Forster, and older sisters Vivian and Dorothy. They are survived by their three sons: Aaron, Adam, Michael, grandchild Marissa, as well as the family dog Jake. Lyndon is also survived by his baby sister Bonnie (Victoria BC) and Marilynne by her older brother Ken (Kaysville Utah).
Lyndon was born in Rosetown Saskatchewan, April 13th, 1942 while Marilynne was born in smith Alberta, January 29th, 1943. Both of their early years were in Alberta, with Lyndon in and around Edmonton while Marilynne grew up in Calgary. Lyndon had initially been offered a placement at the Banff School of Fine Art, which he declined, while Marilynne intended to study Psychology at post-secondary. In the end, both of them attended Brigham Young University in Provo Utah where they first met and began dating. They returned to Calgary where they worked and were married on November 2nd, 1965. Shortly thereafter Lyndon, employed by Baroid Drilling as a mud man, required they transfer north to Fort St. John. The harsh winter urged them to move south to raise a family, where they bought their forever home on Mt. Tolmie in late 1971, living there until 2019. With Marilynne’s unwavering support, Lyndon’s entrepreneurial spirit began in Victoria purchasing and running Saanich Rentals, moving into the food and beverage industry, developing and creating Maude Hunters and Christie’s Carriage House Pubs, two of the oldest neighborhood pubs in Victoria, retiring from the industry in late 2001. Lyndon also enjoyed a lengthy and successful real estate career in Victoria for over 34 years, working for a variety of real estate firms. Lyndon and Marilynne were avid supporters of sports, from Lyndon coaching baseball, soccer, and swimming earlier in life, to looking forward to the regular season and playoffs in hockey, football, and soccer. Over their lives, Lyndon and Marilynne enjoyed extensive travel around the world, such as numerous family trips to Hawaii, and enjoyed retirement at their house in Palm Springs California, countless cruises with close friends, as well as dinner parties and various social events, including card nights with neighbors; but, their greatest joy was always spending time with their family, and especially their three sons.
The family would like to extend gratitude and thanks to live-in care workers Charilyn and Emi, as well as the staff at Glenwarren Lodge for all that they have done in caring for our parents over the past years.
Sadly missed … and lovingly remembered.
Both Marilynne and Lyndon were laid to rest in private family interments; and, their sons look forward to hosting a celebration of life for family and friends this coming summer. Details to be announced at a later time.
In lieu of flowers the family encourages you to go hug your mom or dad, or both, and tell them you love them today; and, would ask that you support local family businesses.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
