Linda’s Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing our beloved Linda. A very special woman who was blessed with many talents and accomplishments who dedicated her life to her family and her faith.
Linda enjoyed her early years working with the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Fisheries. Her time spent as a Mary Kay consultant brought her great pride and enjoyment, especially being a two time grand achiever of the Pink Cadillac Award. Linda was the driving creator of the Williamsdale playground and its activities. She was a member of the United Church as well as Women and the Canadian Girls in Training. Linda’s talents included ceramics and floral arrangements and cake decorating, to name a few. However, her pride and joy were her flower beds that were second to none, like walking through a story book. Linda’s biggest and proudest creations next to «her boys» are her paintings. Each one individually capturing the beauty of the world through her eyes.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wendell; sons, Lawson (Patti), Len (Laura); grandchildren, Megan, Nathan, Alexander and Gabriel; siblings Marjorie, Reg (Linda), Juanita, Hilda (Jim), Paul (Sherry), Robbie (Donna), Shima (Lee), Bradley (John) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda was predeceased by her mother and father, the late Leonard and Mary (Donelle) Hardie; sister, Dorothy; brothers, Ronald and Osbourne; paternal grandparents, Reginald and Hattie (Fountain) Hardie.
Visitation will be Friday March 25th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., with funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday March 26th, both in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, 5075 Main Street, Oxford.
