It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Leona Burt of Grand Bank announces her passing. Leona passed away at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin on Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, at the age of 89. Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her son, Stanley Burt (Minnie) of Grand Bank; daughter, Eileen House of Grand Bank; 3 grandchildren, Margot Butler (Wayde), Steve Burt (Cheryl), Katrina Burt (Kevin), 4 great grandchildren; Luke Burt, Abby Burt, Steven Stacey (Kimberley), Brandon Prior; 1 great-great grandchild, Steven Stacey Jr.; plus a large circle of extended family and friends. Leona was predeceased by husband, George Henry Burt; mother, Minnie Thornhill; grand daughter, Pamela Prior.
The Burt Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Friday, September 16th, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Saturday, September 17th, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Funeral service will take place at Wiseman’s Funeral Home, Grand Bank on Sunday, September 18th, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
Interment to follow at Salvation Army Cemetery in Grand Bank. In Leona’s memory donations may be made to Salvation Army Cemetery Fund, or flowers gratefully accepted.
