Laurette Belisle (Portelance)
It is with profound sadness that the family announces her passing in Val Caron, May 24, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Daughter of the late Wilfred and late Eugenie (née Rainville) Portelance. Beloved wife of 65 years to Edgar Belisle. Devoted mother to Normand (Hélène). Dear sister of Alcide (Lorraine), Léo, Ronald (Sheila) and Georgette (late Léonard). Predeceased by her siblings Germain (Laurette), Marcel, Hector and Conrad. Loving grandmother to Michelle Turgeon, Angèle Beauparlant (Jean-Guy) and Danielle Loranger (Yannick). Great-grandmother of Caleb, Mia, Callie, Marcus, Jack, Karine. Equally missed by all her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Laurette worked for 36 years for the Roman Catholic School Board, both as a teacher and principal, retiring in 1988. She enjoyed reading, knitting, line dancing and playing cards. As per her wishes, visitation will take place at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4570 St-Joseph Rd, Hanmer, Sunday May 29 from 6 to 9 p.m. and May 30 at 9 to 9:30 a.m. A funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. at the St-Marguerite d’Youville Church, Val Caron.
