Kathleen Kay George April 19th 2022 avis de deces

Our precious Kathleen (Kay) George, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on April 19th, 2022 at the age of 97 years.
Daughter of the late John and Lena George, Kay was a dedicated mother first and foremost to her daughter Shirley (Martin) Lingelbach and will forever be treasured by her grandchildren Michael (Chelsea), Chad (Kristen) and Tara (Cole). Affectionately known as ‘Bubba’, she was adored by her great-grandchildren Nia, Aaona, Zayla, Lillian, Nathaniel, Ember and Berkleigh. She will forever be cherished by her surviving sisters Irene Sather and Mae (Ed) Malnyk; sister-in-law Mona George; numerous nieces, nephews, very dear friend Denise Muttart and the countless individuals to whom she became an honorary Grandmother. Having lived a full life, Kay was greeted at heaven’s gates by her partner Alex McIntyre, brothers and sisters-in-law John (Marie), Andy (Mary), William (Mary) Steve and Dan George and sister Anne Seminuk and brother-in-law Rolph Sather.
Kay lived her life with a heart full of love and a great sense of humour. She energetically embraced every day, no matter what was in store. She had a way of making friends wherever she went, adding life to any room she was in. Her fighting will and enduring spirit became apparent as she battled cancer with a smile on her face as she spent time with those near and dear to her. Kay spent her life giving a helping, caring hand to others. She worked hard on her parent’s farm near Southey. After moving to Regina, Kay worked as a server for various catering jobs. Meticulous by nature, she also worked as a housekeeper for the Shumiatchers and at Parkside Nursing Home. She had a knack for finding anything her family deemed lost for good.
Kay was her family’s biggest supporter being extremely proud of each one of them. Her home was frequently filled by the laughter of loved ones. Once retired, she spent her time attending all of her grandchildren’s extra curricular activities and coordinating surprise visits to her daughter’s house with chocolate chip and raisin cookies. She found happiness working in the sunshine, gardening and shelling peas. Later in life, Kay could often be found enjoying coffee by the window with her friends. She loved watching her daytime shows and sports and reality TV. Kay also enjoyed her evening adventures to the Casino with her sister.
Although she will be greatly missed by her family and friends, she will be celebrated for her unwavering personal strength, independence, courage and wit. A private internment will be held at a future date.
Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Kay’s memory. The family ask that you hug the ones you love, cherish the moments, make the memories.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Kathleen Kay George April 19th 2022..
