Obituary
It is with deep sadness that the family of the Late Juanita Thorne announce her passing at the Calder Health Centre in Burgeo on Friday November 25th, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Juanita was predeceased by her 1st Husband Franks Marks (1960) and by her 2nd Husband Benjamin Thorne (1998). She leaves to mourn her children: Joy Blagdon (Keith) in Burgeo, Blaine Marks (Margie) in Burgeo, Kevin Thorne (Megan) in Cape St. George and Karen Laldin (Edmund) in Winnipeg MB. Also leaving her grandchildren Rick, Amy, Angie, Kylee, Jennifer Meagan and Kavanna, 5 great-grandchildren, her brother Newman Durnford in CBS, her Sister-in law Carrie Stevens in Lower Sackville NS, her brothers-in law; Henry Marks in Lunenburg NS and Ivan James in Port Aux Basques and a large circle of relatives and friends. She was also predeceased by her parents A. James and Susanna Durnford and by her sisters Pearl, Shirley and Maggie. No flowers by request. Donations may be made to the Calder Health Centre or St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday November 28th, 2022 at 2pm from St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Burgeo with the Reverend Elsie Rose and Reverend Deacon Brenda Strickland officiating. Interment will take place in the Anglican Cemetery in Burgeo.
