John Thomas Poole
February 2, 1946 – September 12, 2022
Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital surrounded by his family on Monday September 12, 2022 after a lengthy illness, John Poole of Georgetown at the age of 76 years.
John is predeceased by parents John and Anne Poole, parents-in-law Thomas and Geraldine Spracklin, brothers-in-law Thomas Spracklin and Eric Parsons and grandsons Barry and Jason McLean.
John leaves to mourn: his Wife of 53 years Jane (Jenny), Daughters: Sherry (Barry Whelan), Brenda (Dale Mahoney), Sons: Eric (Jeanette Norman), Paddy (Jackie Poole) and Andy (Anna Poole), Grandchildren: Jaime (Shawn), Brian, Crystal (Chris), B.J. (Catherine), Erica (Ryan), Jennifer (Brad), Hannah, Andreana (Aaron) and Dimitri, Great-grandchildren: Kyle, Alexis, Brooke, Parker, Riley, Larkin, Blake, Ryder and Alexander, Sisters: Rose (Darwin, Jason, Lesley and Ben White), Anna Ghaney and Brother: Billy Cole (Donna). Brothers-in-law: Andrew (Verna), Ronnie (Brenda) and Graham and Sisters-in-law: Joan (Paddy), Annie, Florence (Kevin), Winnie (Mel) and Shirley. Aunts: Anne Pottle and Marie Ryan.
Special friend Cecil Price (Carmel) and home care workers Fredericka Farrell and Beverly McDonald; as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Rebecca Powell and Dr. George Fox and staff on the Palliative Care Unit of Carbonear General Hospital.
Resting at Broughton’s Funeral Home, Brigus, NL. Visitation will take place on Wednesday September 14th and Thursday September 15th from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 16, 2022 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Brigus, NL with cremation to follow. Inurnment at a later date.
Flowers gratefully accepted or donation may be made in John’s memory to Our Lady of Snows Church.
