John Kloosterman Friday December 9th 2022 avis de deces

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John Kloosterman, 74, died on Friday, December 9th, at Rosebridge Manor, Jasper, ON. He was born in Oudega the Netherlands on October 17, 1948 to Harmen and Anna Kloosterman. He had a sister, Evelyn and was later joined by Grace, Greta and Paul.
In 1951 the family emigrated to Canada. They settled on Rudl Road, where a farm was purchased. It became a dairy operation, and later there were also some chickens. As a young boy, he helped on the family farm, as there was always work to be found there. He later worked for several other area farmers. He also spent a few years working for his brother-in-law in Strathroy. He enjoyed the farming life, and particularly working with the animals. As a boy, John loved his dog(s). John moved from the family farm to his own place on Miller Road. He enjoyed his life there tending to a large property. He made a walking trail in the bush on the property, and very much liked living in the country. In July 1990, he married Virginia, in a small ceremony at their property. They joined efforts, and also maintained a large garden every summer. After his tree cutting accident, a move to Prescott was undertaken. He had to leave his beloved ‘farm’ behind, and live in town. However, John never complained, and took all his adversities in stride. He and Virginia lived there for 15 years, and it became home for them.
This past February Virginia passed away and John could no longer live on his own, due to his health situation. He moved to the Wedgewood in Brockville, where he lived for five months. His health continued to deteriorate and this necessitated a hospital stay, followed by a move to Rosebridge Manor in Jasper, ON
During the course of his life, John endured many hardships, the major one being his tree cutting accident. By sheer determination, and God’s grace, he overcame many obstacles to his recovery. After spending a year in the hospital and rehabilitation, he was able to come home. He dealt with his limitations with grace, and never let it get him down. We thank God for John, for his courage, strength, kindness. John was a man of faith, and enjoyed regular visits with his pastor. He will live in our hearts forever.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of John’s life on Tuesday, December 13th, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland with a reception to follow. Memorial donations to the Bethel United Reformed Church or the Brockville General Hospital Foundation will be gratefully appreciated by the family.
