It is with great sadness that the family of Jeremy Wayne Friesen announces his passing from his earthly home on August 30, 2022. Although he will be tremendously missed by family and friends, we know Jeremy is alive and well in his heavenly home.
Jeremy was born on March 1, 1974 in Taber, AB and raised in Vauxhall by his loving parents, Ervin and Dorothy Friesen. In 1981 the family moved to northern Alberta where Jeremy and his siblings (Clinton, Karrie, and Kendra) created many amazing memories together. In 1990 the family moved to Grande Prairie where Jeremy met Jeanette. They graduated high school in 1992 and were married Feb 26, 1994.
Jeremy’s dream was to fly, and during their first months of marriage he accomplished obtaining his Private Pilot’s License. Jeremy and Jeanette then moved to Cedar Hill, TX, where he continued his education and received his Airframe and Powerplant License and a degree in Computer Science. During this time, they were blessed with two daughters (Abra Danielle, Nov 20, 1997 and Nyah Elaine, May 1, 2001). The family’s plan was to stay and work in the USA, however God had other plans and brought them back to Alberta in the summer of 2002. They finally settled in Rosemary in 2004 and Jeremy began his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the agriculture industry. In 2005 they were blessed with a son (Jonas Ervin – Aug 4, 2005) and their family was complete.
Jeremy enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and restoring vintage vehicles, but what he valued most was people and relationships. What weighed heavy in his mind was his hope that everyone would see past his flaws and see the love of Jesus in and through him.
Jeremy is survived by his wife and children, parents and siblings, uncles and aunts and countless cousins and second cousins. He is predeceased by his grandparents (Jake & Elsie, George & Katie), an uncle (John), and an aunt (Erna).
In loving memory of Jeremy, a Celebration of Life service will be held at the Brooks Evangelical Free Church on Monday, September 12 at 2:00 pm. There will be a casual come and go viewing at Smith Funeral Home on Sunday, September 11 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A private family burial will be held at the Vauxhall Mennonite Cemetery prior to the Celebration Service.
