Janie Robinson
July 29, 1943 – September 22, 2022
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mom, wife, grandma, great-grandma, sister, and friend, Janie Robinson (Edwards) on Thursday September 22, 2022, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Born in Sydney Mines, she was the daughter of the late James and Annie-Jane (MacDougall) Edwards. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend of nearly 50 years, John; her children, Arnold Stubbert (Carol), Rosalie Sparks (Jim), Janie Ann Soucie (Mark), Juanita Stubbert, Clifton Stubbert (Terri), Lisa Robinson (Joey), and John Robinson. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sister, Alexis Rhodenizer, brother, John Edwards (Shirley); sisters-in-law, Joan Hillier and Nancy Robinson; and brothers-in-law, Robbie and Jude Robinson; many nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased her first husband, Edward Stubbert (Ebby); sons, Keith Stubbert and Clifford Stubbert; sisters, Margie Covey, Josie Willett, Annie Mae Snow, Rachel Taylor, Mabel MacKeigan; brothers, Jimmy Edwards, Charles Edwards, and Alex Edwards; and brother-in-law, Adrian Robinson. She loved being surrounded by her husband, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. She loved listening to the oldies and sang along with just about every song she heard. She loved to knit things, especially for the grandbabies. She was an amazing cook and baked like a pro, rarely following a recipe. In her younger days, she loved to dance and play darts. She had an infectious laugh and embraced life with a smile. Her magnetic presence drew people to her and everyone that met her, loved her. She is now in Heaven celebrating with her loved ones. Her loved ones are celebrating her joining them. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place in JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines, Saturday (today) October 1, 2022, followed by a prayer service at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Sydney.
