Jamie Callin, late of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away on August 3, 2022. He was born in Midale, Saskatchewan on November 24, 1952 to Lesley and Ellen Callin. Jamie spent his early childhood in Lake Alma and Glasnevin, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where Jamie trained as an Electronic Engineering Technologist. He spent his entire professional career at SaskTel in Regina, joining in 1972. During that time, Jamie observed the field’s transition from electro-mechanical to solid state to digital technology prior to his retirement. His zeal for the electronics field continued throughout retirement as he contributed projects in numerous voluntary capacities.
Jamie enjoyed travelling with friends and family throughout Europe and USA. In the late 1970’s, Jamie discovered an outlet for another passion, many long-time friends and like-minded people at the Regina Wildlife Federation. In 1980, he was the Saskatchewan Practical Pistol Shooting Champion.
Jamie was dependable and considerate. He shared this part of himself with those around him. This was demonstrated too in his love for nature and the outdoors. After retirement, he found his paradise in Southern Saskatchewan at South Park. Here he found a place for relaxation, enjoying nature and creativity, from clearing underbrush and maintaining pathways to preparing the wood for his artistic boxes. His sly sense of humor was often evident in his creative work. Until his passing, he continued to enjoy the cabin at South Park and association with Regina Wildlife Federation.
Jamie passed away after a short illness. He is deeply missed by both friends and family. His character rung purely through his thoughtful actions. The family gives special thanks to the Regina General Hospital ICU Staff for their capable and compassionate care.
Jamie is survived by his brother Helmut and family in Calgary, Alberta.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Atlas Hotel, 4177 Albert Street, Regina, Saskatchewan.
