Henrietta’s Obituary
SMITH, Henrietta – April 1, 1941 – November 1, 2022. It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, Henrietta, in Villa Acadienne, surrounded by family and friends. She was a daughter of the late Denis and Catherine (Deveau) Deveau.
To all who knew her, “Ma” was her name, and she loved that. She was a great cook and baker, who always had a story to tell. She will be dearly missed, and we will forever carry with us fond memories of her.
She leaves behind her children, Anne Smith (single & smart), Halifax; David (Debbie), Hebron; Lisa (Kevin) Cosgrove, Saulnierville; Wayne (Joanne), Cape St. Mary’s; sister, Irene (Kirk) Nickerson, Reynoldscroft; grandsons, Joshua Cosgrove, Halifax and Jacob Cosgrove, Saulnierville.
She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Leonard Smith.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of La Villa Acadienne in Meteghan, for all they did to make Ma feel at home. She received great care, and she loved them all so much.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 10th, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Saulnierville, where burial will follow.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
