Hazel Irene Roberts
August 14, 1940 to September 1, 2022
Peacefully, in the Palliative Care Unit at Bluewater Health in Sarnia Hazel Irene Roberts (nee Bell) passed away at the age of 82 years.
Hazel was the beloved wife of the late Harold Roberts. Mother of Frank (Mary) Roberts and James (Rochelle) Roberts. Proud Grandmother of Dylan, Timothy, Andrew (Samantha) and Travis. Great-Grandmother to Cooper. Dear sister of John (June) Bell, the late Gail (the late Bill) Boyd, June (Steve) Price, Alice (the late Morley), the late Donna (Joe) Morreau, Shirley (Don)McKay, Cecil (Diane) Bell, Ron (Jean) Bell, the late David (Diane) Bell, Robin (Gina) Bell, the late Graham Bell, and the late Sidney Bruce Bell. Hazel was a treasured Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Nelson and Amy Bell.
Hazel knew how to have fun. As a young couple Harold and Hazel went all-out for seasonal decorations and costume parties. They both enjoyed scenic drives and diners. They were beautiful dancers. Hazel loved planning dinner parties and creating gifts for family and friends. Her flower gardens were inspirational. She had an optimistic character, helping hands and a great smile.
Hazel was always ready for an adventure. She would pack a light bag, stuff the car with snacks and games, tuck the boys in the back seat and hit the road to Petrolia for whatever celebration was happening. She enjoyed the long drive from Mississauga or Orangeville or Walter’s Falls. She loved spending time making memories for the members of her huge extended family.
Hazel was the kind of person that added “shine” everywhere she went. She was thoughtful and generous and loyal. She was well-loved and she will be missed.
