On Thursday, August 18, 2022, at the age of ninety-two. Beloved and devoted husband of Rose Laskin for sixty-nine years. He leaves behind his loving sons, Mark and Steven, Paul Eysie (Brookline, MA). Proud and adoring grandfather of Teryn Byer and Greg Morel, and Max Byer. Proud great-grandfather of Jackson and Josephine (Jojo). Gerson was the treasured brother and brother-in-law of Shulamit Tyberg-Isaacs and Kim Isaacs and the late Zvi Tyberg. Predeceased by his caring and loving sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Alex Rudner, and by his brother-in-law and special friend, David Laskin and his dear sister-in-law, Rona Laskin Wexler, as well as his brother-in-law Harold Laskin. Gerson held a special place in his heart for Shelley Byer (Andrew Stoppelmann). He was deeply loved and will be always remembered by his loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Palliative Care Unit and Hope & Cope Fund at the Jewish General Hospital. Graveside service on Sunday, August 21 at 3:00 p.m., at the House of Israel Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva at the Marriott Courtyard Montreal Airport Hotel (Vickers 3 conference room): 7000 Place Robert Joncas, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, and from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, parking at conference room entrance (Vouchers will be provided). Remainder of Shiva will be strictly private. Kindly respect the family’s wishes that ALL visitors wear masks and please practice social distancing.
