Obituary
George Anthony Casper passed away peacefully at home on September 1, 2022, at the age of 78 following a 12-year journey with head and neck cancers.
George was born October 6, 1943, to Harry and Ida Casper in Calgary, AB. George was raised by his aunt Rose and uncle Tony Klein on a farm outside of Fox Valley, SK.
George worked as a land surveyor for many years with his job taking him all over Canada.
George and his wife Karen Onrait-Casper were married in 1977 in Regina. Their daughter, Noelle, was born in 1978. George’s job then took them to Prince Albert in 1979 where their daughter, Danielle, was born in 1982. The family then moved to Yorkton in 1983 and stayed until they retired.
George and Karen retired to beautiful Peachland, BC in 2003. Following the move, George developed a passion for woodworking. His workshop was one of his favourite places to spend his time. He was very creative and made many items including pet feeders, wine racks, tables, and chairs. He never turned down a woodworking project for his family and friends. George and Karen became vendors at Farmer’s Markets (Peachland, Penticton, Kelowna) starting in 2006 and there were very few market days he missed. George was a longtime Saskatchewan Roughriders fan and frequently wore his game day apparel to the Farmer’s Markets.
George is pre-deceased by his parents, sister (Theresa Comery), brother (Pat Klein), niece (Jeannine Comery), and parents-in-law (Rene and Marg Onrait). George is remembered and sadly missed by his loving wife Karen, daughters Noelle (Jasen Rohatinsky) and Danielle (Chad Achtemichuk), grandson Logan Achtemichuk, brother Mike Klein (Lana), brothers-in-law Dale Onrait (Joanne) and Kim Onrait (Lorna), many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who were like family.
We wish to thank all the medical personnel at Kelowna General Hospital and the BC Cancer Agency Sindi Ahluwalia Hawkins Centre for the Southern Interior that cared for George over the past 12 years.

Following George’s wishes, a service will not be held, but please feel free to have a glass of rum and coke in his honor.
