With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, nonno, brother, cousin, and friend, Francesco Rizzuto, on September 28, 2022, at the age of 85 years. He spent his final days surrounded by his loving family and peacefully passed away in his home.
Francesco will be remembered for his gentle, kind and compassionate demeanor. He was a man of strength and courage, facing his end-of-life sickness with unwavering faith and bravery. He was surrounded by loved ones throughout life and death. He lives in the hearts of those who knew him, and he will never be forgotten.
Francesco is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Francesca “Frances”; he was the devoted father of Piña (Stanly), Ferdinando, Antonio (Rosa), Dan (Diane), and Leonardo; a loving nonno to Vincenza (Tyler), Michela, Francesco, Helena, Alessandro, Diego, Giovanna, Marco and Emileo; and a caring brother to Giuseppe (Anne) and Mario (Flora). He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Lisa Danzo, Fausta Magee, Eda Miranda (Frank), and Marg Marrazzo; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Francesco was predeceased by his parents, Ferdinando and Filippina; and two brothers, Santo and Leonardo.
A special thank you to Dr. Pisani, Dr. Michalska and all the staff of the dialysis unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, as well as the AHS homecare staff for their outstanding and compassionate care of our dear father. We are forever grateful.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Monday, October 3, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Park Memorial, 9709 – 111 Avenue, Edmonton. Funeral Mass Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 10 a.m. at Santa Maria Goretti Roman Catholic Church, 9110 – 110 Avenue, Edmonton. Reverend Father Roy Antony, CIFIC officiating with entombment to follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum.
