Fernande Fournier 1944 2022 avis de deces

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of
Fernande Fournier at Hospice Albert House on July 14, 2022, after a
long and determined battle against cancer. She leaves behind a loving
husband, Roger Fournier, a son Pierre (Michèle) and
daughters Lise (Michael) and Mélanie (Richard) and five
grandchildren Matthieu Fournier, Rhys and Jack Parry, and Elodie and
Benjamin LeBlanc. Fernande devoted her energy to her children and
grandchildren.
Fernande was born in Saint-Maurice on October 28, 1944, to
the late Adelin and Léa Savoie. She will be missed by her
sisters Rosemarie (Donald Leger), Simone (Gilles Gallant, deceased),
Claudette (Omer Maillet, deceased) and brother Donald (Linda). She
will also be missed by her sisters in law Gabrielle (late Yvon
Arseneau) and Jocelyne (Léo Keseris). She was predeceased
by her brothers Claude (Angela) and François, as well as
her brothers in law Jean-Emile (Rosemarie, deceased) Jean-Claude
(Marie-Thérèse LeBlanc) and Camille Fournier and
her sister in law Gracia Fournier.
She grew up in the small hamlet in rural New Brunswick and
carried small village values throughout her life. You needed a meal,
she was there for you. You needed a shoulder to cry on, she was there
for you. You needed a helping hand, a word of encouragement, she was
there for you. It was never about her and she defined considerate. Her
infectious laugh, her generosity and her joie de vivre touched
everyone she met. She was a people person and people from all walks of
life naturally gravitated to her.
She always had people dropping by, invited or not. If there
was a prize to be won for cooking a delicious meal with little
forewarning, she would have won hands down. She loved to see people
and made everyone who came to visit feel like a long lost friend. She
only saw the good in people, never faults.
Fernande loved sports. She was a solid golfer and scored a
hole in one at Royal Oaks. She was an avid bowler, enjoying the team
spirit as much as the game itself. When she talked about bowling, it
was always about old and new friends she met, never about how well she
played. She was also an excellent bridge player, initiating several of
her friends to the game.
She was a nurse. She knew instinctively how to look after
patients and how to establish trust and a strong bond with patients.
She did not leave these qualities behind when she left the
profession.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday
August 6, at Frenette Funeral and Cremation Centre and visiting hours
on Friday August 5, between 6:00 p.m. and 9 p.m. at Frenette.
At the family’s request, face covering is
mandatory. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that
those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to the
Hospice SENB (Albert House) or their favorite charity.
