Faye Louise Bishop 19382022

Faye Louise Bishop
1938-2022
Faye Louise Bishop, 84, of Forest Dale Home and formerly of
Hopewell Cape went to be with her Lord and Saviour on November 24th,
2022 at the home with her daughter by her side. We found it
amazing that she passed away 6 years to the day that her husband,
Audbur passed away in 2016.
Faye was born in West River on June 21st, 1938 the daughter
of the late Aubrey and Annie (Wilbur) Butland.
She grew up in West River and had many fond memories of her
childhood. She graduated from High School and became a
Teacher. Her passion was teaching and she took
great comfort in knowing she was helping students who needed
her. We were told she always went that extra mile
to help students learn. She was an amazing math
teacher and Trigonometry was her specialty.
She spent many hours doing one on one with her students
that needed that extra attention. She
often took them on field trips and drove them on numerous outings just
because she enjoyed them and wanted to show them they could have fun
and learn at the same time.
«A good teacher is like a
candle—it consumes itself to light the way for
others.» – Mustafa
Kemal Atatürk
She married Audbur Bishop and helped in the family owned
funeral business, Faye was always behind the scenes but things
couldn’t have run smoothly without her.
She not only taught full time but helped in the funeral home
and raised her girls. When they say behind every good man is
a great woman, this was the case for Faye and Audbur. He
could not have done everything he did without Faye supporting him in
his endeavors. Later in life she went back to U 0f
M and did night courses to receive her Masters.
After her retirement, she helped in the family Store, making trips to
town for stock, scooping ice cream or pumping gas.
Faye did many jobs over the years. She also took a
course on photography and loved taking pictures. She
especially loved taking pictures of the birds
that she would watch for hours. She was an amazing
woman who always put others’ needs ahead of her own. Faye
did not like being the center of attention or making decisions but she
was always there for everyone and she had a generous and giving
spirit.
One of Faye’s most favourable attributes was her
loyalty. She was loyal to her family, her friends
and most of all her Lord and Saviour. Throughout Faye’s life
she was a devout Christian who taught many Sunday School Classes and
was an Awana leader, she loved children. She prayed and read
her bible daily.
We know she is now at peace and with her Heavenly Father
hearing the words» Well done my good and faithful
servant.»
She will be deeply missed by her daughters, Kim Stevens
(Duane) of Stewiacke, NS, Lisa Henderson (Sean) of Hopewell Cape and
Lana Duffy (MIke) of Lower Cape; her cherished grandchildren, Devin
Stevens (Michelle) of Dartmouth, Chelsea Stevens (Adam Wilson) of
Dartmouth, Brady Duffy (Morgan) of Hopewell Cape, Casey Hoar (Leslie)
of Hopewell Hill; her treasured great grandchildren, Keira, Fox and
Hayden; sisters Judy Fenton (John) of Riverview, Carolyn Geldart
(Merlen) of Hillsborough and Edith Land (Michael) of Edgett’s Landing;
brother-in-law, Rev. Donald MacDougall of Moncton. She will
also be missed by several nieces, nephews and by all her extended
family and friends.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her
husband Audbur; brother, Harold; sisters, Lois Butland, Pat
MacDougall
There will be a time of visitation on Sunday, November 27th
from 12:00-2:00pm at the Albert County Funeral Home with the Funeral
Service starting at 2:00pm with Rev. Don MacDougall
officiating. The family will be meeting with relatives and
friends following the service at the funeral home for further sharing
of memories and for refreshments immediately following the
service. A private family interment will be held in the
Mountain View Cemetery, Lower Cape, NB.
For those who wish donations to the Riverside Consolidated
or Hillsborough Elementary School Lunch programs or Harvest
House would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral
Home, 4130 Route 114, Hopewell Cape, NB, E4H-3K2
