It is with broken hearts that we, the daughters of Evelyn (Hillgrove) (Holland) MacLeod, announce her passing on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born March 18, 1932, in Glace Bay, she was the only child of the late Daniel and Sarah (MacDonald) Hillgrove.
Ma, as she was known to the family, had a quiet nature. She was a kind and fun-loving woman, who will be dearly missed by her daughters, Donna (Harry Steylen), Karen (John Urich) and Mabel Ann (JasonTroke); grandchildren, Lisa, Stephen, Holly, Charles and Jenny; and great-grandchildren, Julia, Thomas and Maddox.
Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband, DJ Holland and their eldest daughter, Brenda. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Blair MacLeod.
Cremation has taken place. A family service will take place at a later date.
