The Rigault-Dixon family announces the passing of their father, Errol Joseph Dixon, who died peacefully in Kingston, Ontario on Friday, December 2, 2022, in his 85th year.
He was the dear son of the late McBurnie & Lenora Dixon of Trinidad. Beloved husband of the late Ena Dixon (nee Banfield). Loving father of Vanessa and Sunny and adoring papa to Juliana.
And the special brother to McBurnie, Knolly, Kelvin, and Glenda (all deceased) and Joan and Leroy,
As well as the adoring uncle to nieces Diana, Rosemary, Nikki, Gail, Deborah and Joanne (deceased).
And, nephews Carl, Stephen, Michael, Richard, Ronald, Curtis , Wayne, Gary #1, Garnet, Errol, Julien, Kenny, Christopher, Dean, Gary #2, and Jerry (deceased).
Errol was born and grew up in Port of Spain, Trinidad where he spent his early career as a security guard. He later married the love of his life (Ena) in 1982 and moved to Toronto, where he also worked in security.
He and his wife, for 25-plus years provided care as foster parents to over 150 children, where he was known as “Uncle Errol”.
After the death of his wife in 2009, he moved to Kingston Ontario, where he continued to work at St. Lawrence College as a janitor. He then retired at 80 years old to care for his beloved granddaughter.
He was truly a “gentle” man, a child of God and will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
A private family gathering will occur in Kingston on March 15, 2022.
And then a Community Celebration Service will be held in March 2023 in Toronto where his family and long-time friends can come together to honour and commemorate his life. The service will be broadcast virtually for those who are overseas. The Toronto location will be announced.
